Monday April 21 Arrival in Train Station at Bordeaux
Tim will collect us and take us to Bergerac to visit the Wine Museum in Bergerac followed by light shopping and a nod to Cyrano.
Transfer to Domaine de la Barde for apéro and welcome dinner.
Tuesday 10h00 5 minute Walk to Le Bugue, the village where Martin Walker and his wife live. Short walking tour of the market and village area led by Martin. Transport with Martin to Resistance- related site Chateau de la Vitrolle, Eglise Saint Martin constructed by Henry II of England as penance for authorizing the murder of Thomas à Beckett, a stop at the charming village of Limeuil and a tasting of Cuvée Bruno at Julien de Savignac.
A festive lunch follows at Martin & Julia’ s home. Dinner at the Domaine.
Wednesday Chateau Milandes home of Josephine Baker, lunch on site and visit to a local, boutique winery, Domaine de la Voie Blanche. Dinner at the Domaine de la Barde.
Thursday Depart to Château de Fayolle. Winery visit and wine tasting hosted by Riki and Frank Campbell who have done a remarkable in job making this a must stop. Copious lunch on the terrace. Dinner at the Domaine de la Barde
Friday Brantome with its abbey and wonderful little shops.
Lunch at Au Fil de Temps
Built on a rocky outcrop, the castle of Bourdeilles brings together two exceptional buildings. A 13th-century medieval fortress flanked by an impressive keep, and an elegant Renaissance dwelling housing one of the richest collections of furniture in Aquitaine.
Back to the Chateau de Barde for a festive au revoir dinner.
Saturday Brunch is served then transfer to train station
Double Occupancy 3375 euros per person-Balance of 2575 will be billed by Domaine de la Barde
Single occupancy 3675 Balance of 2875 will be billed by Domaine de la Barde
