JINCHAN YOKOCHO

If your looking for the usual "Japanese" restaurant pouring Kirin and Asahi beer you won't be happy here because here you will drink the delicious Sakekazu Hazy Ale brewed with Sake yeast that eliminates the usual bitter taste and is unavailable at other Paris restaurants.

Jinchan Yokocho offers a one-way ticket to the authentic Japan, a country of gastronomic pleasures and taste sensations that is a thousand miles from the stereotype of this island nation as a purveyor of sushi, and nothing else.

Miyo and Alban are dedicated to offering the finest in Japanes and local products. Rice, dried vegetables and spices are sourced directly from Japan and produce, fish and meats are locally sourced. Not your father's Japanese restaurant. After a delightful meal of  Kaarage (Crusty Chicken Thighs with Japanese Mayonaise), porcini mushrooms, carpaccio de seriole and salmon sushi we finished  with a Philadelphia cream cheese based cheesecake that would make a New Yorker sit up and take notice.

A lively atmosphere created by Kevin, who worked at Le Central in San Francisco and an international staff of personable young servers (Ina is pictured at bottom left) who speak Japanese, French, Italian and Spanish. Can't wait to go back. Perhaps you'll join me? Or we'll gather a few members of the Sunday La Coupole Salon for lunch?
